As usual, Zak was completely spoiled this Christmas. Since we aren't going back to Michigan this year, he also had all of his presents from his grandparents to open! He got a Wii and several accessories and games for it, a new iPod Nano, a Nerf Vulcan gun, and bunches more.
His favorite gift, though...a crisp, new $100 bill from Grandma and Grandpa Stacey.
He used it to buy another game for his Wii and some accessories for his XBox. While we were standing in line at the cashier he turns to me and says, "I've got my friend Ben out." It was so funny!

The Cast Signing

The Cast
We saw the orthopede today and Zak is in a cast for 4 weeks! His x-rays are negative for a break, however, the growth plate is injured. Unfortunately, they consider and treat all growth plate injuries as breaks. He chose Flyers orange for the cast color. He's being a trooper about it, not complaining at all, but I'm sure he'll start to grow tired of it quickly, especially since he still can't hold his Xbox controller right.

Ouch!
It finally happened...Zak got his first real hockey injury. He was driving to the net and was tripped up by an opponent's stick and literally "crashed the net." His right wrist smacked the goal post. The ER doctor didn't see a break on the x-ray, but the injury is where there are some growth plates, so she splinted it and we have to go see a pediatric orthopede Monday. The best part - can't write, fortunately there are only 2 days of school left before the holiday break. The worst part - no video games...AAHHH!
We wish you a Merry Christmas!

Sleeping Beauties
Zak had 3 teammates sleep over last night. Rather than sleep in Zak's bedroom where they could stretch out, they chose to sleep in the game room. This is what I found this morning...
Silly boys!
Happy 40th Birthday, Chad!
Chad turned 40 on Wednesday (December 10th). Unfortunately, he was in Green Castle, Maryland. But we celebrated with him when he got home Thursday afternoon. We got him a new watch and Zak had the funny idea to buy him a "gag" watch to open first. Look at the face he made when he opened the first one versus the face when he opened the real one.
We are the Champions!
Zak's team won the Center Ice Thanksgiving Tournament. The final game was very exciting. We had previously lost to the other team in the first game of the tournament. With 19 seconds left in the game, we scored the game winner! Visit vfcpw.blogspot.com to see Mr. Miller's great pictures from the tournament, the award presentations, and the locker room celebration.
